Located just outside of Nashville, this is the Harlinsdale barn in Franklin, TN. It used to be home to the World Grand Champion of Tennessee Walking Horses, Midnight Sun. To this day, most Walking Horses can trace their lineage back to Midnight Sun at Harlinsdale Farm. This iconic barn and property was opened to the public as a park through the city of Franklin in September 2007. In 2015, the first Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival was launched and hosted on this property. Even though I live in the outskirts of Music City, it’s still crazy to me that Pilgrimage at Harlinsdale – practically in my backyard – has hosted the likes of Justin Timberlake, Eddie Vedder, Hall & Oates, Willie Nelson, Cake, Beck, Weezer, and many more!
This barn is part of the heritage in Franklin and now Music City as well. So, I took a black and white photo of the barn and painted this one in my studio. I was going for an Andy Warhol look, but it’s still clearly my own style. When photographing an object for painting in my studio, I always use black and white so the color doesn’t influence my style. This 24 x 13 print is ready for matting. Contact me for custom sizes.
New from Roy Laws Art: Re-Creations!
So you love a painting, but the original is already home with someone else. What to do? I now offer to recreate the painting for you in the size and even colors you like. I even promise to drink beer and listen to loud music while I'm doing it to accurately match the environment the original was created. You can choose the "recreation" option below or contact me if you'd like something altered.
