"Georgia" | Ray Charles Portrait
I’d love to tell you that Ray Charles held some deep meaning for me. But the real story is that I just genuinely love the image. I painted it as a companion piece to my Willie Nelson portrait. That’s fitting because Willie was known for his “outlaw” country music. Ray was also known for doing his own thing and even helped country music go mainstream by integrating it with rhythm and blues and pop music. In fact, Ray Charles was the king of crossover, even sometimes combining rhythm and blues with Latin, jazz, and gospel.
So, even though I don’t have a great connection to report, I’ve got nothing for respect for the legend. The originals of both Willie Nelson and Ray Charles were the same size (24 x 36). They are actually an inversion of each other in terms of color. Full-size (and smaller) giclee on canvas reproductions are available. Contact me for custom sizes. FREE shipping.
New from Roy Laws Art: Re-Creations!
So you love a painting, but the original is already home with someone else. What to do? I now offer to recreate the painting for you in the size and even colors you like. I even promise to drink beer and listen to loud music while I'm doing it to accurately match the environment the original was created. You can choose the "recreation" option below or contact me if you'd like something altered.
